Former deputy arrested on child porn production charges

GAINESVILLE - A former White County Sheriff's Deputy was arrested Thursday and charged with producing child pornography.

Federal authorities say 32-year-old Christopher Thomas Davis of Dahlonega made his initial court appearance late Thursday afternoon in Gainesville. Davis is accused of taking photographs of a seven-year-old girl engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The photographs were taken inside Davis' home in Dahlonega, according to authorities.

Authorities said at the time the photos were taken in May 2009, and at the time of his arrest, Davis was employed as a Sheriff's Deputy with the White County Sheriff's Office. He has been terminated from his law enforcement position.
