ATLANTA -- Tevin Washington scored on a 36-yard option run and threw the ball "fairly well again," according to coach Paul Johnson, as Georgia Tech held a scrimmage on Saturday.
Washington, a junior, is the favorite to replace 2010 senior Joshua Nesbitt at quarterback.
Redshirt freshman Synjyn Days and freshman Vad Lee are competing with Washington. Days scored on an 8-yard run.
Lee scored on a run from the 1 and completed a pair of passes to freshman receiver Jeff Greene. Johnson says Greene has played himself into a position "where he is certainly going to play."
Johnson says converted quarterback David Sims could start at B-back, the position where Jonathan Dwyer and Anthony Allen excelled the last three years.
