COAL MOUNTAIN -- The Blair Armstrong era at North Forsyth opened with a 34-14 loss to Cherokee on Friday night in Coal Mountain.
The Raiders (0-1) fell behind 28-0 before firing back with two second-half touchdowns.
Joey Musulman scored on a short run in the third quarter for North Forsyth, while Tanner Riddle added a fourth-quarter touchdown run.
Mitch Gutierrez paced the Raiders attack as a triple threat, rushing for 43 yards on 12 carries, while also passing for 56 yards and hauling in four passes for 48 yards.
Luke Slaton also managed 46 yards on four carries, while Musulman snagged four catches for 63 yards. Harris Roberts also finished 10 for 21 for 102 yards and two interceptions.
Defensively, Logan Stone's 11 tackles led North Forsyth; Chad Smith added 10 tackles.
The Raiders will look to bounce back next Friday at Woodstock.
