GAINESVILLE - An armed man is on the run after a Saturday morning robbery at a Gainesville convenience store.
City police are investigating the incident, which happened around 9:00 a.m. at the Shell convenience store at West Ridge Road and E.E. Butler Parkway.
Gainesville Police Department spokesman Kevin Holbrook said a male subject entered the store, brandished a handgun and demanded money.
"[The suspect was described as]a light-skinned black male, approximately 5 foot seven, around 140 lbs., wearing a black shirt, jeans, black tennis shoes," said Holbrook.
He said the suspect then left the store on foot. Hall County deputies are assisting with the search.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
