ATLANTA - New political boundaries unveiled Friday would, if adopted, give Hall County eight representatives in the state Legislature as opposed to the five who currently represent the county.
The state House map shows Hall sharing representatives with White, Forsyth, Banks, Stephens, Gwinnett and Lumpkin counties, and a new state senator with Banks and Habersham and the rest of the 50th Senatorial District.
The new alignment shows:
*A House district that includes parts of White County and Forsyth County
*A House district that includes Banks and Stephens counties
*A House district set in southeastern Hall County alone
*Two House districts that include parts of Gwinnett County
*A House district that includes part of Lumpkin County
*A House district set in the middle of Hall County
*A Senate district that includes a tiny part of the 50th district, which includes Banks, Habersham and several other mountain counties
*A Senate disrict (the 49th) which covers the rest of Hall County
