GAINESVILLE - People had a chance Tuesday evening to enjoy food and fun while getting safety and security tips from area law officers and firefighters at Gainesville's annual "National Night Out."
Billy Hendrix with Memorial Park Funeral Home, the sponsor of the event again this year, helped organize the event which was held at the Target store on Shallowford Road from 6:00-8:00.
Hendrix says "it's an evening with all the local law enforcement, Fire, EMS, and other different public agencies giving out information about the services that are offered, like how to form a neighborhood watch group or who to talk to about gangs and drugs."
The event also featured displays of a variety of public safety equipment.
