TV newswoman allegedly assaulted by husband

JASPER - A former Atlanta television news anchor was taken to the hospital after reportedly being roughed up by her husband in Pickens County.

Pickens Sheriff's Captain Frank Reynolds tells Fox 5 that Pam Martin was treated and released and her husband arrested.

Reynolds says the incident happened at a bed and breakfast in Pickens County earlier this month when Martin's husband banged her head against the wall and held a screwdriver to her throat.

Martin is a longtime Atlanta television reporter who currently works for WSB-TV.
