Two arrested in Coleman Foods theft

GAINESVILLE - Hall County sheriff's deputies arrested two men early Tuesday morning after they found the pair driving a stolen pick-up truck belonging to Coleman Foods.

Hall County Sheriff's Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks identified the two as Kevin Brannan Williamson, 43, of Gainesville and Ronnie David Martin, 31, of Lula.

Wilbanks said deputies on routine patrol spotted what they thought was a suspicious looking pick-up truck just after 2:00 a.m. on Old Candler Road, and they stopped the vehicle to investigate.

"Deputies observed a number of large, stainless steel augers in the bed of the pick-up, as well as a large amount of computer equipment, hand tools and commercial food items inside the cab of the truck," said Wilbanks.

Investigators determined that the truck belonged to Coleman Foods and that the contents inside the truck had been removed from a warehouse on the Coleman Foods property.

Wilbanks said the two face a number of charges in the incident.

Williamson, who was driving the stolen truck, has been charged with burglary, theft by taking/motor vehicle, possession of Alprazolam (Xanax), driving while license suspended, and crossing the guard line for entering the Hall County Jail with additional Xanax concealed on his person.

Martin, who was a passenger in the stolen truck, faces charges of burglary and theft by taking/motor vehicle.
