GAINESVILLE - Three teenagers have been charged with stealing aluminum wire from the vacant remains of a house on Stone Creek Court which burned June 23 in an arson fire.

The arrests were made by Hall County sheriff's deputies responding to a report of a theft in progress early Thursday.

"Deputies discovered a pickup truck in the driveway of the residence with a
large spool of aluminum wire in the bed," Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks said. "The investigation revealed physical evidence indicating that the spool of wire had been removed from this property, and deputies made contact with three white males in the back of the house."

He said after interviewing the subjects, all three were arrested without incident.

18 year-old Ricky Whitlock and 19 year-old Dalton Wilsdon, both of Gainesville, and 18 year-old Floyd Bush, of Clermont, were each charged with felony theft-by-taking, according to Sgt. Wilbanks.
