GAINESVILLE - Johnson High FBLA Adviser Cree Aiken has announced that rising senior Mimi Sam placed nationally in her event at the 2011 FBLA National Leadership Conference held recently in Orlando. <br />

FBLA members spent the past school year preparing, competing, and advancing during various FBLA competitions. <br />
<br />
National Leadership Conference was the final competition for the year with members from all over the U.S. coming together to compete for the top ten places in each event. This year's attendance of 8,000 set a record for the NLC. <br />
<br />
Sam placed third in the nation in Word Processing II. Along with the honor, Mimi won $300 in cash prizes. She was joined at the Orlando conference by classmates Ted Irwin and Katie Turner, as well as Alexa Lee from Flowery Branch High School. <br />
