GAINESVILLE - Some brought a picnic dinner, some a lawn chair or blanket and some reserved a table.
But a crowd of about 500 turned out Sunday night for what has become a July 4 tradition in Gainesville, the annual Patriotic Pops Concert, featuring the Gainesville Symphony Orchestra.
Held at the Brenau University Amphitheater, this year's concert opened at 6:00 p.m. with the duo Pocket Dreams performing. Bluegrass artist Wayde Powell and three other members of the GSO performed before the concert, as well, and at intermission.
"The Stars and Stripes Forever" signaled the traditional ending to the evening of music.
