GAINESVILLE - Hall County employees will be taking the first of a new round of unpaid furlough days Tuesday to coincide with Monday's July 4 holiday.
As usual all administrative offices, courts and community centers will be closed but the landfill and compactor sites will remain open on Tuesday... and, of course, many county services will still be available on line. County residents can renew a vehicle tag or business license, find a new pet, pay taxes, and more at hallcounty.org.
The county commission last week voted to continue the furlough days for the new fiscal year which began Friday, a cost-cutting move which was started nearly three years ago.
County offices will close on the following dates in FY2012:
