Manhunt ends with arrest of North Hall man

GAINESVILLE - A 30-year-old North Hall man was arrested late Thursday morning after a manhunt in the Price Road/Mount Vernon Road area.

Sgt. Kiley Sargent of the Hall County Sheriff's Office says Bartley Thomas ran from his Garden Boulevard home when deputies tried to serve him with an arrest warrant.

Sgt. Sargent says tracking dogs and a state patrol helicopter were used in the search of a perimeter than was set up within a half-mile radius of Thomas' home. He says Thomas was captured within that perimeter without incident.

Sargent says Thomas was wanted for parole and probation violation, aggravated assault/domestic violence, theft-by-taking, and simple battery.
