BETHLEHEM - A Barrow County firefighter remains hospitalized in stable condition at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a fire in Bethelem over the weekend.
Lt. Scott Dakin with Barrow County Emergency Services saID the firefighter suffered a medical emergency Saturday on the scene of a house fire on Duke Road. That home was destroyed by the fire, which was started when an unattended turkey fryer was left too close to combustible materials at the home.
In addition, Barrow County firefighters fought another blaze Sunday afternoon on Ode Peppers Road. An unattended outdoor fire gets the blame for igniting and destroying an outbuilding at that residence.
