Apartment fire in Dawsonville displaces four families

DAWSONVILLE- An apartment complex fire early Saturday morning in Dawson County displaces four separate families.

The fire was called in just before 2 a.m. alerting Dawson County fire officials to a blaze at Dawson Forest Apartments off Beartooth Parkway near Ga. 400.

Dawson County Fire Chief Lanier Swafford says several people had to jump from the second floor to escape the flames, however no one was injured in the fire.

Swafford added that firefighters from Hall and Forsyth counties also responded to assist in extinguishing the four unit building blaze.

The fire remains under investigation.
