UGA's Taylor to attend Rangers-Braves game

By The Associated Press
ATLANTA -- Georgia teammates Johnathan Taylor and Zach Cone will be together as members of the Texas Rangers' organization on Saturday when the Rangers play the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field.

Taylor was left paralyzed from the chest down after he broke his neck in March in a collision with Cone during a game.

Taylor, undergoing outpatient treatment at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, may never play again. The Rangers still selected him in the 33rd round of the Major League Baseball draft last week in what Georgia coach David Perno says was "truly a classy move."

Cone was taken by the Rangers with the 37th overall selection.

The Rangers' first pick in the draft was another player from the state of Georgia, left-hander Kevin Matthews from Richmond Hill High School.
