'Bad air' warning

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
ATLANTA - Certain groups should may want to curtail their outside Memorial Day activities today.

A Code Orange air quality alert is in effect for the metro Atlanta area and as far north as Gainesville.

Code Orange means the outdoor air is likely to be unhealthy for some people, including children, people who are sensitive to ozone, and people with heart or lung disease.

Experts say these groups should limit prolonged outdoor activities during the late afternoon or early evening when ozone concentrations are highest.
