Public tips narcotics agents to 3 drug suspects

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
CLEVELAND - Three people were arrested on drug charges in White County this week by the Appalachian Drug Task Force, which has the public to thank for pointing out each of the suspects.

Task force commander Mitchell Posey says the information led to the arrests of 51-year-old William Edward Metz, 21-year-old Jessie Lee Allen Meaders; and 37-year-old Robert Michael Holt, all of Cleveland.

"As information came in the Appalachian Drug Task Force proactively worked on them," according to task force commander Mitchell Posey, "and had the public not called us, we might not have known about these people. Of course, I would encourage anyone who has any information about illegal narcotics to call us."

Posey said Metz on methamphetamine charges, Meaders was booked on marijuana charges and Holt for attempted manufacture of methamphetamine. Posey said agents found an inactive meth lab at Holt's home.

The amount of drugs seized was small, Posey said, but the important thing is that the public got involved.
