Jaemor Farms' peaches coming in early, good

LULA - Good news for the folks at North Georgia's Jaemor Farms... it's another good year for peaches.

Drew Echols with Jaemor Farms in Lula said warm weather in February caused the trees to go into "grow-mode" a little early.

"We should start picking in about two weeks, and a lot of times we don't start picking until the 10th of June," he said.

Echols said dry weather is to blame for the early crop.

"Dry weather makes good peaches, so we're thanking God that we're getting no rain," said Echols.

He said peach season should last until the end of September. It's already begun in middle Georgia.
