GAINESVILLE - Gainesville Mayor Ruth Bruner was "arrested" Tuesday at Longstreet Café for eating chicken with a fork.
Police Chief Brian Kelly showed the Mayor a copy of the 1961 Ordinance which makes it "forever and eternally unlawful to eat fried chicken within the environs of the City of Gainesville, Georgia, in any fashion other than with the fingers."
It was all a part of the promotion for Saturday's 7th annual Spring Chicken Festival, Georgia's Official Chicken Cook-Off this Saturday from 9:00-4:00 on the downtown square.
