GAINESVILLE - Lakeview Academy Upper School English teacher, Crystal Beach has been selected as a 2011 International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Emerging Leader. Each year, ISTE receives an extremely strong pool of nominees who reside in locations around the world.

Jennifer Ragan-Fore, the ISTE Outstanding Young Educator Award Chair, explained why Ms. Beach was chosen, "Crystal was selected because the judging panel felt that her work exemplified ISTE's mission of advancing education through the effective use of technology. Her impact to the field truly stands out as exemplary, and we're thrilled to be able to recognize her in this way."

"I'm still in shock!", Beach said in reaction to the news of her selection. "It's a huge honor, especially since I'm an English teacher. I'm excited to talk about and share all the great work my students do."

Beach, along with the four other educators selected for this honor, will be recognized in front of an audience of over 2000 people during ISTE's annual conference in Philadelphia on June 26.
