GAINESVILLE -- Chestatee played its best spolier role Friday dealing Walnut Grove a devastating 6-1 loss in Region 8-AAA action.
It was second straight win for the War Eagles (6-14, 6-12 in region) who got a complete-game effort from Scott Chewning. The senior right-hander fanned five in earning the win.
Chestatee used a five-run first inning to grab the lead and never looked back.
Brice Beck had three hits and Michael Pinson had two hits and knocked in three runs to lead the Chestatee offense. Corbin Smith had two hits and Josh Turner one hit and both drove in one run apiece for the War Eagles.
