Soccer: Chestatee girls blank Lumpkin

GAINESVILLE -- Chestatee outshot Lumpkin County 21-1 in taking a 3-0 win in Region 8-AAA play Tuesday night.

Chestatee (10-3, 5-3 in region) got goals from Jessie Stephens and Morgan Dooley in a 7:30 span late in the first half to grab the lead. Stephens slipped a shot through Lumpkin goalkeeper Allie Mundhenk and with one minute before halftime, Dooley made a run across the top of the penalty area and put a shot in the top right hand corner for a 2-0 lead.

Alexis Rebollar, who had eight shots on goal for the night, put the game away early in the second half with a goal.

Sharon Sotelo, Rachel Wright, Marianna Arcaraz, and Shannon Grossman led the Chestatee defense in maintaining the shut-out.
