By staff reports
CLEVELAND -- White County rallied from halftime deficit to Johnson to force overtime and then beat the Lady Knights in a penalty shootout in Region 8-AAA girls soccer action on Tuesday in Cleveland.

The Lady Warriors and fourth-ranked Lady Knights played to a 1-1 draw through regulation and overtime, setting up the shootout, which White County won 4-3.

Johnson led 1-0 at halftime but the Lady Warriors' Brie Ballinger scored on a corner kick by Sam Ballinger with an assist from Savannah Castles late in the second half to send the game to overtime.

Megan Runkle had 10 saves in goal for White County (10-1, 5-1 Region 8-AAA), which plays host to Monroe Area on Friday.

The outcome dealt Johnson its first region loss of the season. The Lady Knights will look to bounce back on Friday against Northview in Oakwood.
