GAINESVILLE - Delegates and alternates were selected by the Hall County Republican Party Saturday for the GOP district and state conventions.
There were 61 delegates and alternates chosen for the district convention April 16 in Cumming. There were 46 delegates and alternates selected for the state convention which is May 14-15 in Macon.
Charles Lewis was elected party chairman, replacing Jim Pilgrim who did not seek another term as chairman. Pilgrim will, however, remain on the Executive Committee as Immediate Past Chairman.
About 150 people attended the meeting which was held at the Elks Club in Gainesville.
Ninth District Congressman Tom Graves was the keynote speaker and Gov. Nathan Deal also spoke.
