Baseball: Griffith gem leads Johnson past Lumpkin

OAKWOOD -- Win Griffith tossed a complete-game with eight strikeouts to lead Johnson to a 9-1 win over Lumpkin County Friday in Region 8-AAA action.

Griffith surrendered just four hits and got help from his defense on several occassions.

Logan Pethel led the Knights (3-3, 2-2 in region) with two hits and also scored two runs. Trae Wilson, Chris White, Cody Lewallen and Griffith each had one hit. A.J. Benefield had three RBI for the Knights.

Johnson will play host to winless Lanier on Saturday in another Region 8-AAA matchup.
