DALTON -- For the first time in program history, the Franklin County boys basketball team is headed to the Final Four.
The third-ranked Lions battled fourth-ranked Carrollton throughout before pulling away late on Saturday at the Northwest Georgia Trade Center in Dalton and held on for a 64-54 win.
Franklin County (25-5) will take on Butler -- which defeated Drew 54-47 in a quarterfinal match-up -- at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Macon Centreplex.
The Lions led 27-23 at halftime on Saturday.
