GAINESVILLE - Lanier Charter Career Academy (LCCA) is currently accepting students for the 2011-2012 school year.
By taking courses at LCCA, students have the opportunity to participate in the newest educational opportunity in Hall County Schools. Students will attend classes AND gain hands-on skills by operating on-site businesses open to the public including:
*The Bistro at the Oaks: a fine dining bistro
*Get Gifted: a gift shop offering specialty gift items
*Corner Café: a coffee & bakery shop
*Meetings & Events: an events planning service and meeting facilities.
*Design360: a personalized promotions company
Hall County high school students interested in culinary arts, hotel management, interactive marketing, biotechnology, and health informatics are encouraged to apply. Students are transported to LCCA for 2 periods per day for this hands-on educational experience which has become a model institution for career academies around the state and nation.
Work-based learning internship opportunities are available for students with career interests in the pathway areas. Honors level credit is also available based upon teacher recommendations.
Parents and students are invited to attend an informational Open House on the following dates:
March 8th - 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
March 11th - 12 noon to 1:00 p.m.
