Braselton Imaging Center earns award for patient satisfaction

BRASELTON-The Imaging Center Braselton, a service of Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC), recently received the Excellence through Insight patient satisfaction award as the "Outpatient Radiology/Imaging Unit for 2010" from HealthStream Research, the company which conducts independent third party patient satisfaction surveys for NGMC. The Imaging Center Braselton was the only outpatient imaging facility to receive this award. A formal presentation of the award will be made during HealthStream's Customer Summit 2011 on May 5 in Nashville, Tenn.

According to HealthStream Research, The Imaging Center Braselton was awarded this honor for its commitment to excellence in patient care, as well as exceeding industry standards. The center received the highest national ratings in Outpatient Radiology/Imaging patient satisfaction among all 288 radiology/imaging facilities in HealthStream's database. To qualify for this award, the Imaging Center Braselton was required to have been a patient satisfaction-tracking client of HealthStream Research in 2010 and to have scored in the 75th percentile or higher in the research.

The Imaging Center Braselton, located in Medical Plaza 1 at River Place on Thompson Mill Road, offers state-of-the-art imaging technology including: 1.5T Philips Ambient Experience MRI; 64-slice CT; Philips Kitten Scanner, a simulator learning experience to help children prepare for a CT or MRI scan; diagnostic X-ray; fluoroscopy and nuclear medicine. The center also offers comprehensive women's imaging services in a dedicated space, including screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasound and bone density scans.
Imaging services at the Imaging Center Braselton are provided in a spa-like atmosphere and are offered with amenities such as warmed robes, lighted scenery panels and gourmet refreshments to help create an enhanced patient experience.
"Our streamlined scheduling and registration processes have greatly decreased patient waiting times," says Pat Duncan, site supervisor of the Imaging Center Braselton. "We have also taken great strides to enhance our scheduling process by adding more convenient time slots and extended hours for CT and MRI."

The imaging facilities at Northeast Georgia Medical Center were also featured in a recent Wall Street Journal article, entitled "Boosting Medical Scans' Image." The article highlighted facilities like NGMC that have taken extra measures with advanced technology, enhanced patient flow and amenities to help ensure patient comfort.
