LOCUST GROVE -- Area 8-AAA grabbed five No. 1 seeds at the Class AAA North Sectionals at Locust Grove High School Saturday in preparation for next week's state meet.
North Hall had three Sectional champions in Lee Sisson (189-pounds), Shane Doster (171) and Tyler Krantzer (125) while White County had one champion in Caleb Morris at (130). Lumpkin County's Travis Burton won the 215-pound division.
White County qualified all but one wrestler it sent to the sectionals. The Warriors had three finish in the top four in the respective weight classes, led by Morris.
Bradley McDougald (160) finished second and Seth White (171) took fourth. Billy Wurtz (103) was eighth, Anthony Galimore (112) was sixth, Michael Limbaugh (135) took fifth, Dylan Shearer (145) was sixth, and Tyler Reeves (189) finished fifth for White County.
Lumpkin County and Chestatee each qualified six for the upcoming tradition state wrestling tournament.
While the War Eagles did not post a sectional champion, Daniel Moreno led the group with a second place finish at 171-pounds. He lost a triple-overtime, sudden-death match against North Hall's Shane Doster in the finals.
Jose Reyes at 103 finished third and Aaron Anderson took fourth at the 215
