Senate banking committee chair sued again

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
ATLANTA - State Senator Jack Murphy of Cumming - chairman of the senate banking committee - is facing more suits over a failed North Fulton bank.

Murphy was sued by the FDIC last month in litigation targeting insiders at the failed Integrity Bank in Alpharetta.

Now, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that he is also being sued by an Alabama lender and regulators who say he failed to repay loans secured by his bank stock.

Murphy says the defaulted loans have nothing to do with his legislative work.
