SUGAR HILL -- The Johnson boys basketball team defeated Lanier 64-46 on Friday night in Sugar Hill.
The Knights snapped a six-game losing streak with a strong defensive effort in the second half. The Knights were up 31-27 at halftime but outscored the Longhorns 16-9 in the third quarter, and 17-10 in the fourth quarter, for a 33-19 advantage in the second half.
Johnson (10-13, 2-8 Region 8B-AAA) was led by Matt Hollis with 21 points, while Cam Schofield added 14 points and Ty Odem recorded 7 points and 13 rebounds.
Lanier was led by Derek Harper with 17 points.
Johnson returns to action on Saturday against Oconee County in Oakwood.
