STATESBORO -- Jeff Monken has added four running backs, including two from Buford High School, among his 25 signees for Georgia Southern.
Monken, who took Georgia Southern to a 10-5 record and the Football Championship Subdivision semifinals in his first season, looked to add more punch to the Eagles' running game on Wednesday.
Seon Jones and Doninique Swope signed with the Eagles from Buford. Jones led Buford with 1,205 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns. He set the school record with 319 yards rushing against Lovett.
Swope, who began his prep career at Sequoya High School, added 705 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns for the Class AA state champion Buford team.
Monken also signed running backs Xavier Sharp of Spalding High and Tre'Shard Burdette of Monroe Area.
