GAINESVILLE -- Sophomore Hannah Boudreaux (Lafayette, La.) has been named Golden Tiger of the Week for the week of Jan. 25-31 by the coaching staff at Brenau University. Boudreaux is a recent addition to the swim team, having transferred in this semester from Delta State, where she was an Academic All American. Her selection was based on her performances in the LaGrange/Berry Tri-Meet last Saturday, where she met NAIA Qualifying Standards in three events.
Hannah won the 200 IM in a time of 2:16.17 and followed that up with another victory in the 100 Breast (1:12.22). She also finished 3rd in the 200 Free with a time of 2:13.18. All those times meet "A" cut qualifying standards for the NAIA Championships. She is currently ranked 2nd in the 200 Fly in the Appalachian Swimming Conference and 5th in the NAIA in the same event.
"I am very proud of Hannah and the hard work that she puts into practice each and every day," coach Blaire Bachman said. "This past weekend's meet was just a glimpse at the caliber of swimming she is capable of and I expect great things from her as she heads into our conference and national meets. She is an athlete to keep your eye on, as she is ranked both in conference and top 10 nationally."
