ACKWORTH -- Chestatee held North paulding to just six points in the second and third quarters combined en route to a 50-40 win in girls basketball action.
The Lady War Eagles (10-4) blew open a tie game after the first quarter with a 12-2 second period for a 28-18 lead. They increased their lead to 39-22 heading into the fourth quarter after outscoring North Paulding 11-4 in the third quarter.
North Paulding outscored Chestatee 18-11 in the fourth quarter to make the game closer than it was.
Maegan Kenimer had another big game for Chestatee with 16 points and nine rebounds. Katie Arthur and Erin Clifford had eight points each for the Lady War Eagles.
