FLOWERY BRANCH - Damage is put at a quarter-million dollars following a house fire in South Hall about 11:00 Sunday night.
The three-story, 10,000-square-foot structure is located on Arbor Point off Lights Ferry Road.
Hall County fire investigators have now traced the cause of the fire to a pre-fabricated fireplace flue, according to Fire Chief David Kimbrell. Kimbrell just a few weeks ago warned of the dangers that fireplaces and flues present. (See earlier story.)
There were no injuries in Sunday night's fire though there were people at home at the time of the blaze.
"Occupant called 911 reporting the house was on fire and they were exiting the structure," Kimbrell said. "Upon arrival, fire units discovered...fire from the chimney chase and smoke from other areas of the house."
