GAINESVILLE -- Gainesville avenged its worse lost of the season Friday night with a 64-54 win over Franklin County in Region 8-AAA action.
Shaquan Cantrell poured in 21 points and Deshaun Watson added 15 to propel the Red Elephants (5-4) to their third straight win.
Gainesville led 41-19 at halftime but had to hold off a furious Franklin County run in the second half.
Braxton Shiflet and Jack McRee led the Lions with 14 points each.
Franklin County (6-2) whipped Gainesville three weeks agao 70-31. The loss snapped the Lions' four-game win streak.
