GAINESVILLE - Hall County authorities confiscated almost $269,000 worth of methamphetamine in a drug bust near the Gainesville Square Monday.
Lt. Scott Ware with the Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad said three men were arrested in the bust, which took place at a location on Washington Street just off the downtown Gainesville square.
The three are identified as Daniel Lee, 28, of Buford, Marco Antonio Gomez-Vieyra, 25, and Salomon Jimenez-Jimenez, 25, both with Gainesville addresses. Ware said in addition to drug charges, Gomez-Vieyra and Jimenez-Jimenez also have had immigration holds placed on them, since they are in the U.S. illegally.
Ware said agents with the VIN Unit, Gang Task Force, Hall County Sheriff's Office Uniformed Patrol Division, GBI, and GSP took part in the undercover investigation.
The arrests were made after agents seized approximately six pounds of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of approximately $268,800. Ware said two vehicles also were seized from the suspects.
