GCC schedules 1st reading on Sun. alcohol sales ordinance

GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville City Council next week will consider first reading of an ordinance authorizing the retail sale of alcoholic beverages on Sunday.

The council was presented with the proposed ordinance at its work session Thursday. First reading is scheduled Tuesday.

Voters approved a referendum on the question earlier this week.
