Brothers, uncle arrested in North Hall metal theft

By B.J. Williams
GAINESVILLE - Three members of a North Hall family have been arrested and charged with stealing metal from property in the Clermont area.

Hall County Sheriff's Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks said a resident on Breezy Lane contacted authorities about a disabled pick-up truck with a trailer in the roadway.

Wilbanks said deputies found a 20-foot section of metal culvert pipe and other metal material loaded on the trailer; they confirmed the items were stolen from nearby property.

Wilbanks said three men, Anthony Ray Tweedell, 22, David Justin Tweedell, 18, and Robert Allen Chamblee, 45, approached deputies at the scene and claimed to own the truck, telling officers it had run out of gas. Deputies arrested the three and the suspects were charged with felony theft by taking.

Wilbanks said the younger suspects are brothers and Chamblee is the men's uncle. All three are from Gainesville.

The stolen metal materials, valued at over $700, were returned to the property owner, according to Wilbanks.
