SUWANEE - A pedestrian who was hit and killed during Friday morning's rush hour in Gwinnett County has been identified.
Suwanee Police Capt. Clyde Byers said 43-year-old Catreenia Lee Pinckney was struck and killed around 6:30 a.m. on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard after her car broke down.
"It's my understanding that she was waiting on a tow truck at that time and for some reason decided to cross the road prior to the tow truck arriving," said Byers.
Byers said the person whose vehicle hit Pinckney stayed at the scene. The accident happened in the northbound lanes of Peachtree Industrial just north of Suwanee Dam Road. He said so far, no charges have been filed.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
