Georgia Tech employee reports robbery near campus

ATLANTA - Police at Georgia Tech are again warning students to be cautious after a university employee told police she was attacked and robbed near the school.

The woman said she was approached Thursday morning by a suspect who stole her purse.

The attack comes as police continue to investigate three assaults on female students at Tech.

In each of the earlier cases, a man has grabbed women, who have fought him off. The man has run off when his victims fought back or called for help.

Georgia Tech police in recent weeks have stepped up patrols. Atlanta police and the Georgia State Patrol have also been patrolling the campus.
