Hurt ankle to keep Clemson's Ellington from start vs. Tech

By The Associated Press
CLEMSON, S.C. -- Clemson says running back Andre Ellington's sprained ankle will keep him from starting Saturday against Georgia Tech.

Ellington is officially listed as questionable for the game, and coach Dabo Swinney said he expects him to get some snaps.

But Swinney said Thursday that D.J. Howard will start at running back for the No. 6 Tigers.

Ellington is the fourth leading rusher in the Atlantic Coast Conference with 745 yards and seven touchdowns. The junior hurt his ankle during the first half of Clemson's 59-38 win last week over North Carolina and playing sparingly the rest of the game.
