CUMMING - Authorities say two pit bulls are quarantined after they escaped from their home and attacked and killed a horse in a pasture in Forsyth County.
Forsyth County sheriff's Lt. David Waters says both dogs were still attached to the horse, including one clinging to the horse's mouth, when deputies arrived at the bloody scene.
Waters said the horse had numerous puncture wounds from the attack, which occurred about a week ago, and later died.
Authorities said the attack happened about a week ago, and the owner of the dogs faces two misdemeanor charges of failing to contain the dogs and failing to have one of the animals vaccinated.
