GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville resident has been arrested in connection with a murder in Lawrenceville.
Lawrenceville Police said 22-year-old Issac Sandoval is the second person arrested in the Oct. 1 home invasion and shooting at Cedargate Apartments on Longlead Drive.
"They found one suspect that was suffering from a gunshot wound, they found another that was suffering from other injuries," an apartment resident told Channel 2 Action News on the night of the incident.
Sadoval is currently being held in the Gwinnett County Jail charged with murder, aggravated assault and weapons possession during the commission of a crime.
In addition to Sandoval, authorities said 28-year-old Steven Green of Lawrenceville has also been charged in the case.
According to Channel 2, police believe a tenant and a friend interrupted the burglary around 10 p.m. that night and were injured as the intruders tried to escape.
Police said one of the victims, 24-year-old Anthony Augustus, later died at Gwinnett Medical Center.
They said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
