FLOWERY BRANCH -- Atlanta Falcons coach Mike Smith says he's hopeful that defensive end John Abraham and center Todd McClure will be able to play Sunday's game against Carolina.
Abraham (hip) and McClure (knee) did not dress for a 25-14 loss to the Green Bay Packers, which dropped the disappointing Falcons for 2-3 on the season.
Smith wouldn't address injuries that knocked receiver Julio Jones, safety William Moore and nickel back Christopher Owens out of the game. Moore (shoulder) and Owens (head) left in the first half and didn't return. Jones walked to the locker room in the fourth quarter with a hamstring injury after running a deep route.
The Falcons coach says he'll have an update on those players Wednesday, when the team is required to put out its first injury report.
