GAINESVILLE - About 45 people gathered recently in Gainesville at the new home of Sara Wilson for the dedication of another Habitat for Humanity home in Gainesville.

The house, on Kings Road near Lake Lanier, was built as a Habitat for Humanity project sponsored by Verizon Wireless and several other businesses and individuals in the area.

During the ceremony, Wilson was presented with the keys to her new home as well as a homemade quilt and Bible.

In addition, Angie Zuniga, retail sales manager of the Verizon Wireless Communications store in Gwinnett County, presented a HopeLine grant of $2,500 to Family Haven. As a survivor of domestic violence, Wilson and her two young daughters sought shelter at Family Haven of Forsyth County, where she is now employed as the organization's bilingual outreach coordinator.

Verizon volunteers also worked on the house alongside Wilson this summer.
