Boys basketball: Vikings rally to beat North Hall

By staff reports
RABBITTOWN -- East Hall rallied from a point down in the final 20 seconds to beat North Hall 60-56 Saturday at the East Hall gym.

The Class AA 10th-ranked Vikings (15-5) trailed 56-55 when Kymon Woods hit a basket and a free throw following a North Hall turnover. Chris Orr then followed with a put back on the second missed free throw on an offensive rebound to put the game away in the final seconds to seal the win.

North Hall had chances to put the game away in the final 45 seconds but missed three free throws on one-and-one attempts.

The Vikings are peaking at a good time having won eight of their last nine games overall. Their only loss was to Class A No. 1 Whitefield Academy last week.

The loss for North Hall (13-8) was its third in six games.

Woods and J.C. Hampton had 15 points apiece to lead East Hall.

Amin Aziz had 12 points and Darius Curry 10 to pace the Trojans.
