Boys basketball: No. 7 Union rebounds from first loss

BLAIRSVILLE -- Andrew Walker had 17 points (15 in in the second half) eight steals, five assists, and two rebounds to lead Class AA No. 7 Union County to a 54-37 wi over Fannin County Friday night.

The Panthers (16-1, 4-1 in subregion) led most of the way taking a 27-18 lead into halftime. They maintained a nine-point lead at 40-31 after the third quarter and then used a 14-6 fourth quarter to put the game away.

Seth Merritt added 14 points and Zach Odom 11 for Union County.

Fannin's Jordan Farmer became the first Rebel to break the 1,000 point barrier in school history.
