Girls basketball: No. 6 Chestatee beats Stephens; No. 2 Dalton up next

TOCCOA -- Class AAA No. 6 Chestatee rebounded from its first Region 8A-AAA loss with a 46-38 win over Stephens County friday on the road.

The Lady War Eagles (17-3, 5-1 in subregion) opened the game witha 16-7 first quarter and never looked back. They took a 27-16 lead into halftime.

Stephens County (7-14, 3-4) cut the lead to 35-29 heading into the fourth quarter but Chestatee put the game away with an 11-7 fourth quarter.

Peyton Roberston had a huge game for Chestatee with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks. Sophomore Sam Brown had nine points and Erin Clifford eight points for the Lady War Eagles.

Chestatee will travel to BNo. 2-ranked and undefeated Dalton (17-0) on Saturday in a battle of top 10 teams.
